Stockholders’ General Meeting of JPX Starting Business Program

- Participants:
Seven 2nd grade students, one staff of JPX (Japan Exchange Group), a certified public accountant, one Hitachi-Omiya High School teacher (the president of HIOKO, the company started by high school students)
- Goal:
1) To develop decision-making skills through the presentation of their own business plans and by carrying out the plans
2) To enhance their communication skills by negotiation and business meeting with vendors and customers
3) To help students’ carrier path decisions by providing hands-on experience of business start-up
- Program flow:
1. Developing a business plan as a group
2. Presenting the plan to venture capitalists
3. Receiving financial investments and issuing stocks (or shares)
4. Establishing a model company
5. Preparing the store with procurement funds
6. Opening a shop at Tsuchiura-city industry festival
7. Making a statement of accounts with the guidance of an accountant and taking an inspection by a tax accountant
8. Holding a General meeting
9. Distributing profit to stockholders and settling an account
